Machine Sewing Sewcial Groups - Book ahead at the shop or drop-in

A two-hour group sewing session in our little workshop 'Making Space' in central Ulverston at Catkin & Scraps.

The group is untutored and mixed ability, based on the premise that you will be able to help and learn from each other as you work on projects of your own choice. We have a maximum of four places per group.

Each week there are two different sessions available. We advise you to book ahead to be certain of a place, but this is not a requirement. You can book single sessions or block-book up to six weeks in advance. Slots that can be booked are: Fridays 10.30am-12.30pm and Saturdays 1pm-3pm.

The Sewcial will be in our Making Space, with full use of our Janome computerised sewing machines and overlockers as well as ironing facilities. Tea and coffee is available and there is a changing room to try on your makes.

Cost of materials such as sewing patterns, thread and fabric are not included, you can provide your own or buy them at the shop as you prefer.

Basic sewing supplies are available to use but we advise you to bring your own if you have them to avoid waiting to use common items such as fabric scissors etc.

The workshop is fairly accessible, but if you have any special requirements as far as access or seating goes please do get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

Sessions are £7.50 each and cannot be booked online - if you wish to book you can do this in person at the shop. Once booked, if you change your mind or circumstances mean that you can no longer come, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations less than a full day ahead and no-shows will not be refunded.
