Improvers: Six Week Sewing Course 'Blouses' Saturdays 4pm-6pm Starting 1st March

A six week course of sewing lessons at Catkin & Scraps, Ulverston. The course starts on the 5th June 2024.

This is aimed at improving sewists who are learning how to make garments and have some sewing experience - you should know how to use a sewing machine and you've made some garments before.

In this course we will be making your choice of the Friday Pattern Company Patina Blouse or Donny Shirt. Alternatively if you would prefer to do a different pattern I can help you choose a suitable one.

The pattern of your choice will be included in the price of the course, but ideally you’ll need to buy the fabric, pre-wash and iron it before the first lesson.

If you can manage to pop into the shop before the class starts to pick up your pattern I can show you which types of fabric would be suitable and we can determine how much you'll need. Opening hours are Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat 10am-4pm.

There are a maximum of four spaces so it is worth booking as soon as you know you want to join in to secure your place.

Each week you will have a two-hour lesson in our Making Space, with full use of our Janome computerised sewing machines and overlockers. Tea and coffee is available and there is a changing room to try on your makes.

Basic sewing supplies are available to use, but we do advise to bring your own kit if you have one so you don't have to wait to use the communal ones.

The workshop is fairly accessible, but sadly there isn't room for someone in wheelchair unless you can manage short distances without one.

We only run these workshops if enough places are filled. If you change your mind or circumstances mean that you can no longer take part, please let us know as soon as possible. You can cancel your booking up to two weeks before the class is due to start, after that we will only refund you if we are able to fill your place.
