Improvers: Six Week Sewing Course Tuesdays 7pm-9pm Starting 25th February 2025

A six week course of sewing lessons at Catkin & Scraps, Ulverston. The course starts on the 25th of February 2025 7pm-9pm.

This is aimed at improving sewists who are learning how to make garments.

In this course you can make what you like, as long as it's not overly advanced so that I can still help you with it (check with me if you're not sure.) If you'd like me to advise you on a project just come into the shop and we'll find you something suitable.

Make sure you get your fabric beforehand so that you can have it pre-washed before the first lesson. If you want to cut your project out at home that's fine, but if you would like advice on the cutting out parts you can just do it in the class.

Our opening hours if you want to come and choose your project and/or get your fabric are Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat 10am-4pm.

There are a maximum of four spaces so it is worth booking as soon as you know you want to join in to secure your place.

Each week you will have a two-hour lesson in our Making Space, with full use of our Janome computerised sewing machines and overlockers. Tea and coffee is available and there is a changing room to try on your makes.

Basic sewing supplies are available to use, but we do advise to bring your own kit if you have one so you don't have to wait to use the communal ones.

The workshop is fairly accessible, but isadly there's not enough space for wheelchairs or prams.

We only run these workshops if enough places are filled. If you change your mind or circumstances mean that you can no longer take part, please let us know as soon as possible. You can cancel your booking up to two weeks before the class is due to start, after that we will only refund you if we are able to fill your place.
