Red Tartan Face Covering - Large

A handmade washable face covering.

These are the pleated style, similar to the disposable ones, except with the addition of a dart in the bottom to help it to curve under the chin.

Sized for men or people with larger heads/faces, they are approx. 23 cm across the top and 19.5 cm acorss the bottom, and 17 cm high when stretched (8 cm when fully pleated.)

There is a removeable aluminium nose strip that can be shaped to fit the bridge of the nose - this will improve the fit and also help those with glasses not have so much fogging.

The elastic has not been tied - that way you can adjust the fit to suit - it is of a length to tie behind the ears thought, not long enough to go around the head.

Alternatively, you can opt for toggles to make the elastic adjustable - though these can get a little uncomfortable if wearing for longer periods.

The coverings have been finished with one of our labels on the inside.

We have two options: 2-layer and 3-layer coverings.

The 3-layer coverings have a top layer of brushed cotton in red tartan, a middle layer of special washable filter (we sell this separately as well here ) and a layer of soft quilting cotton next to the skin.

The 2-layer covering is meant for people who struggle to wear face coverings and is lighter to wear and easier to breathe through. It consists of just a layer of brushed cotton in the red tartan and the washable filter which is next to the skin (see the link above.)
Once washed this will be failry soft to wear against the skin but it does become a little bit fuzzy over time.

Please note that 3-layers are what has been recommended, 2-layers may provide less protection.

These coverings can be washed up to 60 ℃ and tumble dried, but the nose strip should be removed before washing and care taken if ironing not to iron over the elastic.

NB: Please be aware that this is not a medical grade face covering and should not be used as such.

As this is a handmade item, please expect small irregularities and some variation in dimensions.
